Dickenson County American Red Cross Disaster Action Team

With the help of the Dickenson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Mountain Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross,the newly formed Dickenson County American Red Cross Disaster Action Team is now officially trained and in place. So far we have 7 individuals who have passed all the required classes and another 13 or 14 signed up for the next class to be taught within a couple weeks.

On April 7th, Felisha McNabb, Executive Director of the Mountain Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross, along with Patty Tausher, Emergency Services Director, met with the newly formed team and gave them all the needed supplies to come to the aid of anyone in a disaster in Dickenson County. Also this group is trained to go anywhere in the USA in a disaster.

The following members are on the Dickenson County Disaster Action Team: Betsy Yates, Cassie Hall, Ronnie Lee Robbins, Judith Stanley, Myra Lambert, Rita Surratt, Danny Edwards, Laureen Rose, Carol Meade, Teresa Blevins, Pastor Bill Cahill and Leon Ramsey.
